Fuel For Thought

Fuel for Thought - Editors Letter

Taking over the reins of Old Bike Australasia Magazine is both an honour and a humbling challenge. Jim Scaysbrook, a man whose name is synonymous with the motorcycling community, has left an indelible mark on this magazine and its readers. His dedication, knowledge, and love for motorcycles have set a standard that I can only
hope to uphold.

As I step into this role, I want to assure you that the heart and soul of Old Bike Australasia Magazine will
remain unchanged. This magazine has always been a celebration of the timeless beauty, craftsmanship, and stories behind motorcycles from every era. That will never waver.

While my personal passion leans towards the creativity and individuality of custom work, I have
a deep appreciation and respect for the art of purist restorations and the preservation of motorcycles
in their original glory. Every bike, whether custombuilt or meticulously restored, tells a story worth
sharing, and I am committed to bringing those stories to life on these pages.

Above all, I want to ensure that Old Bike Australasia Magazine remains a magazine for the enthusiasts, the owners, the racers, and the truly committed readers who have been with us since the very first issue. Your passion and dedication are the lifeblood of this publication, and I will strive to honour that. At the same time, I am excited to broaden our readership and welcome the next generation of enthusiasts, ensuring that the generational love for two wheels continues to thrive.

I believe the best way we can honour the incredible work that Jim Scaysbrook has poured into this magazine over the past twenty years is to share it. Pass your copies of Old Bike Australasia Magazine to your children, your grandchildren, your neighbours, or anyone who shows even the slightest interest in what we are all so passionate about. Let’s inspire others to join this community and keep the spirit of motorcycling alive for generations to come.

This is a community built on shared passion, and I am here to listen, learn, and grow alongside you. Together, we will continue to honour the legacy of Old Bike Australasia Magazine while embracing the future of motorcycling culture.

Thank you for welcoming me into this incredible journey.

I look forward to riding alongside you all
