Metzeler has been in motorcycle tyres for a long time – since 1892 in fact – but the German company hasn’t forgotten its roots.
In fact, the range of Metzeler Classic tyres has recently been expanded to include five separate styles suitable for little bikes right up to the Japanese road burners of the ‘seventies and ‘eighties. The ME 77 Perfect is one of the best known classic tyres and is still in production in modern compounds in 15, 16, 18 and 19 inch front and rear sizes, and there’s also the ME11 Perfect 11, a traditional semi-rib pattern that looks exactly right on older bikes. Another old favourite is the Block C in 16 and 19 inch front and rear sizes, while the Block K is in 4.00 x 18 only. Completing the Classic line up is the ME 22 of slightly more modern appearance in 17 and 18 inch front and rear sizes.
