It’s been 16 years since Triumph sprang the awesome Rocket 3 on us.
Since then 2200 units have been sold in Australia and the Rocket 3 has become a cult classic. Now there’s an all new Rocket 3 and it’s grown to 2500cc – the biggest production bike in the world – by a long stretch. OBA was invited to the Australian launch – two days of blasting over country roads north of Melbourne in quite chilly but dry weather. OBA Editor Jim Scaysbrook tried both the R version and the touring-oriented GT and they’re both incredible machines with massive torque and endless power. We’ll have a full review in issue 86 of Old Bike Australasia.
