On Thursday 14th December, the wraps came off a pair of very delicious motorcycles – the latest result of the tie-up between the famous Bimota brand and Kawasaki Motors. The venue was Procycles at St. Peters NSW, which will be the main Sydney outlet for the exclusive new bikes.

The function was hosted by radio personality Brendan Jones, who confesses to being a big motorcycle fan, with seven bikes currently in his garage. The evening featured a live video link up between the function and Bimota’s COO Pierluigi Marconi, the legendary engineer who created the iconic ‘Tesi’ back in 1982. Shu Yasui, Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Australia, was also on hand to answer any questions.

First to be unveiled was the Bimota KB4, a superb-looking motorcycle in its red and white livery. Underneath the carbon clothing sits Kawasaki’s Z1000 engine, matched to a chassis that is almost infinitely adjustable to suit riders of every size and experience. The chassis is a combination chromium molybdenum steel trellis, and a machined aluminium structure to mount the swing-arm. The swing-arm itself is a three-piece aluminium alloy construction, incorporating the latest Öhlins remote-reservoir shock. At the front are Öhlins 43mm USD forks. Using an under-seat radiator allows the engine to be positioned further forward for optimal weight distribution of 53.6% front – 46.4% rear. RRP in Australia is $55,000 plus On-Road costs.

Further up the scale and carrying an Australian RRP of $85,000 plus On-Road costs sits the delectable Tesi H2. This is the latest evolution of Bimota’s hub-centre steering front-end concept, with swing-arms at both ends of the chassis, coupled to the Kawasaki H2 engine – a DOHC 16-valve of 998cc with Supercharging to produce an exhilarating package that weighs just 214kg with one-third tank of fuel. Like the KB4, the chassis can be adjusted in every conceivable direction, including the steering head, and the suspension is fully adjustable for compression, rebound and preload to suit riding style or conditions.

The new Bimota duo are sure to attract the buyer who demands the ultimate blend of Italian craftsmanship with Japanese engineering. For more details visit Procycles – 2024 Bimota Unveiling
