OBA Issue 58
OBA58-Bert-Flood-11

Ken Redwood owns the final incarnation of the Bert Flood Bantam/Bultaco, with the rear plunger suspension modified to swinging arm. Ken says, “The bike is still log-booked and still gets the occasional outing. Some years ago Graham Mason and I were racing at the Historic Nationals at Winton. Graham was on Bert’s next Bultaco which followed the Bantam/Bultaco (now owned by Alan Warner in WA). It is a 125 Bultaco motor in a hand-built frame replicating a TSS. Bert was at the meeting and delighted in the close racing between his two bikes. Talking with him he correctly remembered the engine numbers of both bikes! Later at the Historic Nationals in Tasmania, I had great delight when being heckled by spectators asking, “Who the hell would put a Bultaco motor in a Bantam frame?”, by simply replying, “Bert Flood.”
